The LIFE Fluvial project, which concluded in 2022, continues to raise awareness through its traveling exhibition, now on display at IES Concejo de Tineo, where it will remain until the end of May.
This exhibition offers students the opportunity to explore the richness of Atlantic river ecosystems, their biodiversity, and the serious threats posed by alien plant species — invasive non-native plants that displace native vegetation, alter riverbank dynamics, and reduce ecosystem resilience.
The exhibition is especially relevant in a school like IES Concejo de Tineo, which offers specialized training in environmental management and nature conservation.
These courses prepare future professionals to take on the challenges of managing and protecting natural environments, including the detection and removal of invasive species, in line with the goals of the LIFE Fluvial project.
We would like to thank the teaching staff who made this activity possible at the school, especially Anaís, Diego, and Nuria, for their dedication to environmental education and their efforts to bring students closer to the natural heritage of their region.
