WEB SEMINAR: INVASIVE ALIEN SPECIES IN THE RIVER CORRIDORS OF THE IBERIAN ATLANTIC REGION.

LIFE Fluvial project organised  the first dissemination day specialised in the territorial scope of the Eo river basin. Uniovi and Intereo carried aout this activity held on 6 May via the web

The conference was especially aimed at local and regional stakeholders in the council of Vegadeo and its surroundings.

The aim of this meeting was to promote knowledge of exotic and invasive species: how they affect the natural environment and what management strategies should be taken into account to reduce their impact.

The meeting was attended by 29 participants from different professional sectors and covered theoretical aspects related to these species, their legal framework and control techniques. The main actions carried out by the project in the Eo river basin were also shown and a small practical demonstration was given on the use of applications for the identification of plant species.

In the last part of the seminar there was a round of questions on the subject of invasive plants to the technical staff of LIFE Fluvial.

It is planned to make other meetings with this theme aimed at other areas of the Eo region so if you are interested in attending, please write to lifefluvial@uniovi.es and you will be sent the new calls.
